"My first foray into Hip Hop was just as much about getting LPs as it was about having the latest 12" singles. Today, I feel that now we are such a long way down the Hip Hop timeline that so many album-only tracks have been lost along the way. So, I wanted to highlight some of the standout ones that I used to play on my Walkman, home stereo and those fancy Technics SL 1210s I bought back in 1986. These cuts are taken from roughly late 80s to early 90s Hip Hop albums that were essential purchases at the time. I feel they still hold up in 2025!"
